Business Award Winners at Bizfest Worcester

Every year we host the RWC Business Awards to celebrate the small businesses we have coached throughout the year. The RWC Awards are a perfect opportunity to highlight the fantastic entrepreneurial spirit that we see every day in Worcestershire. We are incredibly proud of the growth that our clients achieve so what better way to shout about their achievements than an annual Business Award Ceremony.

If you are currently working with us we will invite you to submit your award application towards the end of the year.

Award categories include:

  1. Small Business of the year - A business that has grown throughout the year and strives to improve and positions itself among industry leaders.

  2. Entrepreneur of the year - A business leader who is transforming the world around them and inspiring others through the work they do.

  3. Innovative business of the year - A business that has developed new innovative products or services.

  4. A brand new category for 2024 - Community Champion. - A business owner who is chosen by RWC in recognition of their support of other businesses, charities and the wider community.

At Bizfest 2023 we hosted our RWC Awards to celebrate these fantastic business owners who made it to the finals.

Small Business of the year - Sponsored by Sterling Networking

2023 Finalists included:

  1. Caketastic Worcestershire - Caketastic have won multiple awards, brought new products to market, increased class attendance, increased demand for their core services, and as a result have seen a growth in turnover and net profit

  2. Protogen 3D - 'Within a year, Protogen 3D have moved from running a business in a living room, to running a plastic manufacturing production facility full time, acquired funding, increased from 4 3D printers to 22. And from 15 clients to 104! They now offer the fastest turnarounds in the UK and are supplying into aerospace, food, automation and end use products.

  3. The HR Hero - Kate has shown strong and consistent financial growth, introduced clear service offerings, pricing models and a consistent and effective marketing strategy which has given them a strong growth overall in 2023.

  4. Therese Hoyle Consultancies - Therese has shown strong and consistent financial growth, grown her team, service offering and secured new avenue’s to grow in 2024.

2023 Finalists included:

  1. Caketastic Worcestershire - Caketastic have identified a gap in the market to launched a new product for doggy wedding cakes and treat boxes, alongside created a community for home bakers, and working with schools to introduce learning and wellbeing through baking.

  2. Styling Life - 'Jo has worked to bring together traditional Occupational therapy evidence-based practices, a passion for supporting the future OT workforce and a new and emerging domain within which OTs have a unique offer to create a contemporary field of practice.’

  3. The HR Hero - Kate has developed her own method, and innovative online offering to support the employment lifecycle. She has created a low cost, affordable solution, to disrupt the way HR services are delivered to SME’s across the UK. SME’s now have 24/7 access to a ‘HR manager in their pocket’ via an app).

  4. Therese Hoyle Consultancies - Therese has developed new programmes, products and frameworks from scratch to support schools which have led to strong growth and the ability to scale up as a team.

2023 finalists include:

  1. Jennifer Alekna - Jennifer in 2023 won most influential interior design business in the West Midlands for Acquisition International, has collaborated with several local businesses, taken on an intern created a giveaway with a lampshade crafter gaining over 500 new followers and a feature on This Morning daytime Tv show.

  2. Sian Smith - Sian in 2023 has gone from securing her first client to being fully booked until 2024 demonstrating strong financial growth, all whilst finding the courage to say ‘no’ to projects that do not align to her values.

  3. The HR Hero - In 2023, Kate has now grown her audience to over 8000 connections with a real focus on marketing strategy and audience growth this year, moved in to an office, taken on 3 associates, won a tender and has been featured in newsletters and live sessions as an industry expert in HR.

  4. Therese Hoyle Consultancies - In 2023, Therese has grown a team, created new programmes and courses for schools, relaunched a new website, appeared on an international stage, secured a book publication for 2024, and demonstrated significant growth.
