How to stay physically active and healthy whilst running your business

Have you ever felt that as soon as the clocks change, your motivation takes a nosedive, leaving your mojo feeling misplaced in the gathering darkness? I hear you, and I resonate deeply with this sentiment.

Let's acknowledge this shared experience and understand that it's a phase that will pass. You are not alone in this journey, and there's a whole heap of cheerleaders out there waiting to propel you forward. So, let's collectively embrace the opportunity that every day is a chance to start fresh, and let's replace the words of '"One Day" with "Day One." One day at a time and one action at a time. So let's begin.

How can you get the most out of being active and keeping healthy?

1. Morning Light Boost: In the chill of winter a brief dose of morning light, even on a cloudy day, can be a game-changer. Just those 5 minutes ignite your day with positivity, lifting your mood and helping you feel energized.

2. Office Stride: Integrate exercise seamlessly into your daily routine. Park a bit farther from the office, and relish the last 5-10 minutes of your journey with a brisk walk.

3. Evening Learning Adventures: The outdoor time may be diminishing, so why not transform your evenings into a canvas for learning something new? Find an activity where you are so engrossed that time will just pass you by, you'll be giving yourself that all important you time and a perfect way to help you de-stress from your busy life.

4. Habit Stacking: What would you like to be able to do in 4-6 weeks time? Who would you like to become? I love stacking new daily habits onto activities I already do. While waiting for the kettle to boil, I'll often indulge in 10 push-ups on the worktop. Sadly for me, I love cups of tea, so that's a lot of press-ups. But as a woman over 40, I know how important strength training is.

5. Winter Acceptance: Winter brings its own set of challenges, and it's okay to acknowledge them. Understand that you are doing your best. Celebrate each positive step, as these victories are amazing confidence boosters.

So, let's collectively re-imagine "One Day" as "Day One." Today is the beginning of a renewed journey towards your health and fitness aspirations. These tips are not just strategies; they are your way to keep your mojo alive, defying the winter gloom together. You've got the strength within you—let's make each day, Day One!
